Buyer evaluation
10 Things to Test Before Choosing a Voice AI Platform
A prepared demo shows one possible conversation. Your evaluation should show what happens when a caller is unclear, changes an answer or asks for something the system cannot do. Use these ten tests with the same source material and expected outcomes across your shortlist.
Human-like voice agents. 11 Indian languages and English.

1. Understanding of the real request
Begin with how customers actually describe the problem, including incomplete sentences and ordinary terminology. Check whether the agent identifies the task before offering a solution. Write the intended request down in advance so reviewers can distinguish a plausible response from an accurate understanding.
2. Names, numbers and dates
Include addresses, product names, amounts and ambiguous time references from your business. Test a correction after the first answer. Inspect both the spoken read-back and the saved value. A correct transcript does not guarantee that the structured record contains the right information.
3. Required-field completion
Specify the facts your team needs before running the call. Leave one unanswered and provide several others together. Check whether the agent tracks what is missing without needlessly repeating completed questions. The result should distinguish a complete enquiry from one that still requires follow-up.
4. Language performance by task
Run equivalent enquiries in the languages you intend to use. Ask native speakers to review understanding and phrasing. Keep results separate by language and include your important local terms. A strong result in one language should not hide a failure in another.
5. Interruptions and changed answers
Interrupt a long response, revise an earlier requirement and ask the agent to return to the original task. Review whether the new facts replace old assumptions. The conversation should recover without losing the customer’s intent or pretending that two contradictory answers are both current.
6. Unknown or conflicting information
Ask a question the supplied knowledge cannot answer, then introduce conflicting material. Inspect whether the agent explains the uncertainty or invents a resolution. A useful system can preserve the question for a person. Treat unsupported certainty as a failure even when the answer sounds convincing.
7. External action results
Test a successful action, a rejected action and a timeout. Compare the final wording with the actual tool response. Booking, payment or account changes should not be declared complete without confirmation from the responsible system. Keep references that let your team inspect the same transaction.
8. Handoff quality
Give the receiving team the output without the recording and ask what they can do next. Check the issue, relevant facts, actions attempted and remaining work. If they need to replay every call to understand the task, the record format needs improvement.
9. Operational change and recovery
Change one business rule and ask the future operator to locate and update it. Then test the affected paths again. Inspect versioning and recovery arrangements with the vendor. Include the effort needed to maintain the agent after launch in the buying decision.
10. Cost for useful outcomes
Record the charges and staff review required for the whole trial. Separate a connected call from a completed business outcome. Compare equivalent configurations and realistic call lengths. A low advertised rate can be a poor guide if the pilot produces substantial rework or repeated failed actions.
Build the first workflow with Swarit
Swarit combines 11 Indian languages and English with a step harness for the process and graph lookup for connected business knowledge. Start with one of these workflows, define the required fields and decide what counts as completion. Connect and verify the relevant business tools before representing an external action as done.
Keep the expected answers, recordings, final records and configuration versions together. Bring that test set to Swarit’s playground and a scoped workflow discussion. Make the purchase decision from observable results rather than a single polished call.
